Description:
This three-hour online workshop invites participants to explore how meaning is constructed, revised, and embodied across the arc of a life. Drawing on psychodrama, narrative psychology, and existential perspectives, we will integrate Bruce Feiler's three pillars of meaning (Agency, Belonging, and Cause), life-line exploration, and action-based methodology to illuminate critical turning points in participants' life stories.
Through structured reflection, sociometric choice, and carefully paced enactments, participants will explore how life events are narrated, meaning shifts over time, and how new narratives can be consciously authored. This workshop emphasizes depth, integration, and professional relevance while honoring the intimate nature of a small, online group experience.

Laura Greer, LCSW-C, CP/PAT works in private practice at LG
Wellness in Baltimore, where she incorporates a variety of
modalities in the treatment of trauma. Laura is a
Certified Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group
Therapy. Using action methods has enhanced both the
groups she facilitates and her work with individual clients.
Currently pursuing certification as a Psychodrama Trainer, Laura
also enjoys sharing action methods with fellow clinicians. Outside
of the office, playing with her parrots and grandchildren are
among Laura's favorite activities.
Catherine D. (Cathy) Nugent, LCPC, TEP,
Catherine D. (Cathy) Nugent, LCPC, TEP, is the Executive Director and Principal Trainer
of Laurel Psychodrama Training Institute, where she teaches classical psychodrama, sociometry,
and group psychotherapy through a contemporary lens that integrates
recovery-oriented and trauma-informed perspectives. With nearly
forty years of practice as a psychotherapist and psychodramatist,
and twenty years of experience with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration as a national thought leader, Cathy helped shape
principles of recovery and trauma-informed services now embedded in
behavioral health systems across the U.S. Her teaching is grounded in
adult experiential learning theory, and is known for its warmth, depth,
intellectual rigor, and practical relevance for clinical, educational,
and organizational settings.
Credit Hours:
Participants who sign in and out of the workshop and complete a workshop evaluation,
receive 3.0 psychodrama training hours and continuing education credits for
counselors and social workers, as follows: Dramatic Transformations/Laurel
Psychodrama Training Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved
Continuing Education Provider with the National Board for Certified
Counselors (AEP # 6788) and certifies that this training meets the
criteria for 3.0 hours of continuing education for counselors.
Participants will also be eligible to receive 3 hours credit towards
certification from the American Board of Psychodrama, Sociometry
and Group Psychotherapy.
